This beautiful mahogany cigar chest is a perfect example of the simple elegance and style of earlier humidors. When we received this humidor it was in mint condition, and the rich, warm patina is exceptional as you would expect after almost 80 years. The top of the humidor has a beautiful curved edge, and the base has a rounded trim on all four sides.
The upper and lower compartments both have separate humidifiers to insure equal and consistent humidification. When the lid is closed the drawer is automatically locked by a spring mechanism that extends from the hinge to the back of the drawer. The brass hinge, lid support, lock, finger pull and nameplate all have a beautiful aged patina and are in excellent condition.
The humidor was a presentation gift to Walter W. McNeil on September 15, 1930 from the Board of Directors at the Oliver A. Olson Company, Inc. No key is available for this humidor. This magnificent humidor is truly a rare find and a very impressive piece.
