A beautiful humidor that is truly an exceptional find! This is a very rare and unique design that we have never seen before. Brass corners, lid accents, and nameplate add to the beauty of this fine humidor. The hinges and lock are in excellent condition, and this humidor also has the key. We were able to preserve the beautiful patina of this fine humidor to its original, immaculate condition.
While restoring this humidor a headline page from an 1892 newspaper was found under the tin in the lid. It is common to find a heavy paper lining in vintage humidors, but this is the first time that we have found a newspaper lining. The newspaper was neatly folded and in excellent condition. When opened fully the paper is one double page, front and back.
The newspaper is The Union Times, Vol. II No.4, New York, Saturday September 24, 1892. These photographs are samples of both sides of the paper showing articles and ads during this era. We have cleaned and preserved the paper and placed it in a matching oak frame as the perfect accompaniment to this vintage humidor.
This magnificent humidor and framed paper are perfect for the cigar aficionado and history buff. Act now to own this unique piece of history that will never be duplicated. |
